TeenSHARP is looking for applicants!

TeenSHARP is looking for motivated, intellectually curious and passionate students in grades 6, 8, 9-11 for its 9-months-long programs held on Rutgers-Camden campus. The College Discovery program is designed for motivated and intellectually curious middle school students and provides them with rigorous preparation in math and English while building their academic confidence and study skills, and offering them early exposure to colleges and careers. At Goucher College, we understand every student is different. We also believe traditional application processes don’t reveal everyone’s true potential. So we created the Goucher Video Application (GVA). Sure, we still take the Common Application and the Universal College Application. But we wanted a process where students could tell us how their talents and experiences have shaped them so far. We want to know who they couldbecome. Philadelphia Freedom Festival

Several NEHS teachers whom will be performing in the Philadelphia Freedom Festival on July 19, 2014, 8 p.m. at the Mann Music Center in Fairmount Park.  The chorus is under the direction of Dr. J. Fluellen and the Rev. Nolan Williams, Jr.  We will be performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Marvin Sapp.  The choir will also be performing the world premiere of a commissioned tribute to Octavius Cato by Philadelphia composer Uri Caine.   NEHS participants include, Mrs. Debbie Micheaux, Dr. Theresa Twine, Dr. Theresa Anderson, Mrs. Marnita Adams and Ms. Theresa Bramwell.
